Sounds like a good plan

It turns out the internets was not the only important anniversary to celebrate on Friday.

I've been following Gary Arndt's travel blog for only a few months, but he's been a nomad around the world for two years and one day.

I am often asked how long I’ll be traveling for. The answer I’m giving is: forever.

I think I've started contemplating that lately because much to the dismay of my 16 yr. old overachieving self, there's simply no grand plan and not much else I want to do with myself long term. I don't really see children and family and all that in my future, though I'm not ruling it out, and I don't care about much else. There's always somewhere that's not here. I find that reassuring.

It's baby steps for now and one I'm incredibly excited about is seeing papper_docka again for a few days of fun in the snow in Slovenia. She's going to pick me up in Vienna on Thursday and we'll be off to the final leg of the Ski Jumping World Cup. Go Poland!

Slovenia! That sounds wonderful! Have fun you two, enjoy it, behave, and ... go Poland!

Yes, we'll count you as a supporter among all those Norwegians and Austrians. :)

I'm super excited too! And because I'm disorganised, we get the bonus thrill of acommodation rulette. ;) (no, it'll be all good, promise).

Traveling as a life plan, huh? Sounds incredibly appealing, if only I pull myself from the inertia... Oh, what am I talking about. Australia! And after that, anything is possible. :) Staying in one place all life long would have been sad for me too. World is too diverse for that. Of course as I'm getting older, I'm also getting lazier and more emotionally attached to places, but hanging out with enthusiastic youngsters like you helps. ;)

But I LIKE travelling this way. :D

If I lived somewhere as lovely as Wroclaw, I'm not sure I'd be so eager to get out. Little side trips are good though. ;)

Oh! Will you spend some time in Vienna? It's about 15 years ago that I was there but I know I liked it a lot :)

Have fun in Slovenia! And don't wear those ski jumpers out too much, at least not before their big jump ;)

Clauds!! Man it's been too long! Sorry, my fault.
That is so cool that you are so into travel and able to do it! I say, as long as you are able to, do it! :D

Hey, you!

Yep, that's the spirit!

I think you have a good handle on the art of working your way to another place, or just picking up and going. It doesn't necessarily have to be classified as travel. I think about the year I "moved" seven times if you only count places I stayed a month or more - including Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and the US. It gets exhausting though.

Two words: do it.

You're only young once. Take it from an old fart.

In fact, I wasted my youth on the pursuits of the middle aged and the senior and I regret it very much. Don't make my mistakes.

In fact, I'm contemplating having my youth now. Damn it.

Doitdoitdoitdoit. And take Jackdoll and a camera with you.
